Author bio

Ana Hortensia Lima Herrera (A.K.A Anita) was born on September 4th, 1972 in Acapulco, Mexico. The year after, she moved with her family to Valencia, Venezuela, and in 1981 to Santiago, Chile. In both cities, she attended the local American school and received a bilingual education (English-Spanish) from a very early age.

Following her family's globe-trotting tradition, and after receiving her college degree in Public Relations and working several years at the Santiago office of an American multinational Public Relations and Communications firm, Anita moved to Rome, Italy, where she earned a Masters in Corporate Communications and Marketing. In the years that followed, she was the PR Manager of a local language school and the European Logistics manager and Assistant to the CEO of a multinational event planning company.

In 2011, and after being diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer, Anita took a sabbatical year and volunteered for two local charities as she healed both physically and spiritually from her disease. But in 2015 a bowel obstruction resulting from her cancer's radiotherapy treatment took her back to the hospital for three consecutive surgeries that had her bedridden for many months.

It was then that an unrelenting voice from within urged her to start her journey as a children's author. And in 2016, Anglusia came to be. As Above so Below . . . Or Almost is the result of years and years of writing, rewriting, revising, and editing the original manuscript, of which only a memory remains today.

In her own words, Anita's mission in life is "to make people happy," and she hopes that, through her writing, she'll be able to accomplish exactly that.

Anita's two brothers live in the U.S.A. (Victor lives in Chicago and Ricardo in Miami). Her father, Victor, passed away in 2014 and her mother, Ana, lives in Santiago, Chile.

Anita loves traveling, dancing, watching paranormal videos and RuPaul's Drag Race, hunting for one-of-a-kind vintage items, and strolling through Rome taking pictures of old things while searching for something she's never seen before (here's her photography side project, N2DK Studio). She's single and doesn't have any childrenthat is, besides the characters she gives voice to.
